It's a fact that our squad is fairly limited and needs major strengthening in the summer, we have one of the smallest squads in the league

To think some posters on here actually thought we could stay in a CL position - fucking hell. 5th or 6th was even pushing it so 7th-12th is our rightful place IMHO.
You have to remember the top 2, unless things change in the next few seasons will be |Man C and Chelsea and the next lot of places are basically taken as even with a bad spell they command enough points to get top 6 - they are Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool and Spurs.
Southampton even with a few dodgy results have stood firm, at the moment, but I bet they also drift away leaving the usual top 6 of MC, Chel, Man U, Liv, Ars and Spurs

A number of us on here predicted a mid to lower league position back when we were in the top 5 before Christmas.
People stick their heads in the sand when they say that we played well but were unlucky or we had lots of posession but did'nt convert our chances or we dropped points because of ref's decisions or last minute goals.
These are all excuses.
Our record this year agains thet so called top teams have been pathetic and any club that wants to move forward must get some reasonable results against these types of teams
We all know who is mostly responsibly for this
time to get rid.

Good point about the Hull game. I'm looking at the run of results since Christmas and I honestly can't see one that I really believe we deserved to win. I think you'd expect to sometimes nick a win in games that were close, so perhaps that's slightly unlucky.
Even last night, it looks like a very plucky performance from us, but you have to admit Chelsea invited us onto them and attempted to simply ride out their lead. If we equalise in the first half they maybe step up a gear and probably batter us instead, and maybe win more comfortably.

We won't be mathematically safe until 3 teams can't catch us

I would point out, in the one game that we've won, we probably should've been 0-3 down at half time, as Hull took us apart, and wasted clear cut chance after clear cut chance.
Could've now been in a late relegation battle, if they'd have had 1 fit first choice striker available...

Charleyfarley, it's the draws that kill you, just look at Sunderland, they've lost just one game more than us, but not winning enough sees them right in the smelly stuff

I think 50 points is a fair aim at this stage. Hard to imagine the team will be firing on all cylinders in mid-table right to the end. 50 points would be a solid improvement from last season after all, and would be good enough for 8th or 9th in the last two Prem seasons.

Is it a blip? If you add in the previous 2 games the I make that 2 wins and 12 points in 13 games. 13 games is over a third of a season. That's bordering relegation form. Looking at the remaining fixtures only the games against Stoke and Newcastle are against teams who have nothing to play for. we are entering the stage of the season where historically the teams in the relegation battle start to pick up points, personally I'd be amazed if we make 50 points.

Luck is not on our side at the moment.
We deserved at least a point against Chelsea last night and we should have taken all 3 against United and Spurs.
I think we were very good. get Arsenal out the way and we have an easier set of fixtures. The wins will return.

When will Alardyce come out and say that this was the main aim at the start of the Season to finish top ten?
That we over excelled ourselves earlier on and this is where we belong?!
Fucking negative vibes everywhere, on here, the club and in the media etc
